Game looks fantastic however I do get that "AI" vibe from some screens like main look of the character in main menu screen... Character has this typical "AI" vibe with small, pointy nose and child-like face features... It does look like generators were used quite heavily here - sadly. Character has white hair in some cases in others yellow/blonde... Face and haircut looks different on different angles - quite typical for "AI" inconsistencies... But hey, you did a great overall job, it really looks well overall. I wonder how it plays. Will be checking it out bit later. I would absolutely love it if it had more of a handmade feeling to it without that generation involved which only hurts your otherwise great game.
Thank you for comment!! You've got a good eye, I admit I tested a bit AI in the intros, but there is a big work of pixel art on the references. The main part are real pics refs recreated in pixel art. Hair color palette changes following the c64 palette (sometime better yellow sometime better white, not to much choise eheh) :D
I can see that and I am mentioning it just because really it takes away from your great game rather then adding to it. I know now people are fascinated with this fake "AI" thing, its quick and so on. Specially on the retro games scene I see that fascination - so many Amiga games are using it for bits and pieces, promotional materials etc. But it is always visible at first sight and I always ask myself "WHY? You did all that huge job on game itself - why to rush and slap that robotic pseudo art on it... I rather take not so good art from human then this seemingly perfect yet soulless "art" spit from generator. And I am saying all that just because I REALLY like your game. Fantastic job. And yeah I agree, c64 palette can be tricky :D Part of the fun I guess. Much luck with everything and please dont take my comments in the wrong way. Its not because I am bashing your game - quite opposite, would love to see it perfected :)
Oh no wrong way, you know the indiegame developer is an "hobby" for me, my first job is illustrator and comic artist (and of course I'll never use AI for my real job) But as a creative mind I need to discover new instruments and making some experiments with them. AI is a new thing, evolving very fast and is becoming a solid part of our reality (if we like it or not) I'm not the kind that refuse it 100%, I prefer to explore it and try fo find out if can help in some way. I made also an alternate cover using AI posting on my social all the steps as a educational experiment but I not used it for the game (I used it as cover for the digital OST).
No I don't think it's so different from my other games in this style, I used pictures ref for Robocop VS Predator and Black Jewel (cause it was used same practice in the past games and I'm so nostalgic ;)) In Jixa are just a couple of AI generated references (and heavily edited adding details, costume, background and so on). Maybe I can do better of course, but is nothing so clear and noticeable.
Eheheh thank you TygerKlawz, lots of people is asking it! XD At the moment no c64 version, but probably will be ported on all consoles, ps4-5, nintendo switch1-2 and microsoft next year. (not sure but really probably, the publisher I work with is interested and asked me)
Damn, it happened sometime in the past with some friends, but it's an issue of Clickteam Developer, give it the permission and will be fine! (let me know if the problem remain and we'll try to find a solution!
Good evening ElegantMechanic, I decided when I create Black Jewel, cause the c64 had a lower resolution but I had to keep the 1x1 pixel instead the rectangular one, so I decided a custom ibrid resolution. I used another different and still lower for my Stramonium.
From the gameplay video, it looks like an excellent game. It would be amazing if a version for a real Commodore 64 or 128 were released, both in physical and digital formats, cartridge or disk.
I'm sure can be done, but I've got not the right skills eheh, but I love so much the c64 palette, that's why this is my second game done using it! Thanks for comment RGM!
Sigh, it's alright. I just got excited there and then I saw it's not for the old breadbin.... game looks fine otherwise. Probably not able to run it on the old hardware.
It's not "just" a windows game. I would prefer a C64 version as well, but please respect what people are programming, regardless. Consider it the arcade version that someone has to port to the C64 ;-)
You're right, of course. It came across a bit harsh, I apologize. It was just that I thought it was another C64 banger so next time I'll look more closer before replying hah.

Well, it was pretty obvious it was probably AI, it is the usual AI style and it stood out a lot from your previous games.

Excellent! Now we need a C64 demake of this XD

purchased and tried downloading, Windows Defender detects a trojan in JixaLadyTiger_PC_GAME.zip (Trojan:Script/Sabsik.FL.A!ml) and deletes it :(

Tried it on another computer and didn't have the issue. Cool game, good job :)
Awesome, sorry for the little inconvenience, I'm trying to solve it, but is not easy cause is a bug inside the software, not in the game XD Have fun!!
This looks great! Well done <3
Thank you for your comment Plume!! :_
What is native resolution please? Or 1x window size?
I try to run it on my crt widescreen but I have trouble finding the right resolution for 1x1 pixel size. It's not c64 resolution is it?
Good evening Paulsen!! Sure, resolution is 288x162 (something like 6.6x proportional to a 16/9 modern screen)
Interesting! Thanks a lot for the reply
Out of interest as a fellow pixel art game dev, how did you land on the 288x162 resolution as opposed to the more common 320x180?
Good evening ElegantMechanic, I decided when I create Black Jewel, cause the c64 had a lower resolution but I had to keep the 1x1 pixel instead the rectangular one, so I decided a custom ibrid resolution. I used another different and still lower for my Stramonium.

Thank you 13thhr!!! :D
At first I got excited, then I saw that this is just a Windows game.
Release it on the C64 then we talk.
Eheh sadly I'm not able to port it on real C64 hardware :_ (
